Kampala, Uganda – Gospel singer and pastor Joseph Ngooma is beaming with delight after his first major concert, held on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at the Lugogo Cricket Oval in Kampala, registered resounding success. The event, meticulously organized by events company Karizm, brought together believers and nonbelievers alike, who converged in big numbers to celebrate Ngooma’s musical journey.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media following the concert, Ngooma expressed profound gratitude to everyone who supported him. "Words cannot express how grateful I am to everyone who stood with me before, during, and after the concert. Thank you for your love, prayers, support, and presence. Above all, thank you, God, for making it all possible," he wrote. "We made history together. God bless you all."

The much-anticipated concert, which Ngooma had long dreamed of holding, was his first mega event outside the church setting. "This is going to be my first mega concert. The ones before were only held in churches, so I am not leaving anything to chance," he had said during a press conference at Xenson Art Space in Kamwokya ahead of the event. The singer, known for hits like "Tosala Musango" and "Webale Nyo Mukama," had promised to bring the heavens down, and by all accounts, he delivered.

A Night of Praise and Worship

Gates opened at 3:00 PM, and by 5:00 PM, the iconic Lugogo Cricket Oval venue was half full. By 9:00 PM, the venue was filled to the brim. Ngooma took the stage early, taking music lovers on a journey of timeless hits, blending his old and new songs. The event was described as more than just music—it was a night of praise, worship, and spiritual encounter. Fans were uplifted by beloved songs including "Yegwe Munnange," "Gwe byonna," and "Kamberenga Naye".

Midway through his performance, Ngooma expressed gratitude for the support, saying the concert opened a new chapter in his career and pledging to "suffocate his fans with new music". The artistic production was handled by Fenon Events, which provided top-notch lighting and sound. Ngooma was backed by a full band, led by the meticulous Myko Ouma.

A Dream Realized

Despite his good music and a loyal fan base, Joseph had never held a major concert to celebrate his music journey and success until July 11. Speaking before the event, the often-humble singer noted that many people on social media had been asking him to hold a "major" concert over the years. "All those coming for my concert should expect the best of the best. It will be a concert like no other before in Uganda," he had promised.

With the historic concert now behind him, Joseph Ngooma looks set to continue his musical ministry, having solidified his position as one of the prominent figures in the gospel music scene in Uganda.
